Asten; a cosy Brabant village in the beautiful Peel
The Groote Peel National Park and the Strabrechtse Heide are within walking and cycling distance of the hotel and is a perfect starting point for nature lovers, sports enthusiasts but also the culture lovers. The terrain is varied with inaccessible peat swamps, lakes, heath land, birches, open plains, and sand ridges. It’s a true paradise for nature lovers, cyclists and hikers. The tranquillity of the Groote Peel also attracts more than a hundred species of breeding birds and migratory birds. Do you prefer to learn more about the environment. This is possible in ‘De Pelen’ visitor centre of Staatsbosbeheer [the Dutch forestry commission] or in the Museum ‘Klok & Peel’ in Asten. The cosy Peel villages: Deurne, Helenaveen, Griendtsveen are worth visiting. Don’t forget Someren with the beautiful Strabrechtse Heide.
